Accelerate Michigan Innovation Competition

The Accel­er­ate Michi­gan Inno­va­tion Com­pe­ti­tion high­lights Michi­gan as the des­ti­na­tion for inno­va­tion and an ideal place to launch and grow a new busi­ness. The com­pe­ti­tion helps to accel­er­ate the tran­si­tion of our region to an innovation-based economy. Grand Prize: $25,000

Who can participate? Open to undergraduate or graduate students enrolled at a Michigan public or private university or college. Students must be enrolled for at least 2 classes for the fall 2011 semester.

Artistic Business Plan Pitch Competition 

The $1,000 Business Plan Pitch Competition is a way for college students to get some money to start an artistic business. Those who would like to enter need to create a basic plan and submit it in to Self Employment in the Arts. From these entries, Self Employment in the Arts will select finalists to present an elevator style pitch to a panel of judges at the Annual SEA Conference in February.

Who can participate? The competition is only open to GVSU students who are currently enrolled for at least 1 credit during the Fall and Winter semester.

GVSU Business Plan Competition

Budding entrepreneurs at Grand Valley State University get 10 minutes to make their pitch for $10,000. Applications are due in November and final competitors are chosen in February. The event, sponsored by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation, is held annually in March at Loosemore Auditorium on GVSU’s downtown campus. The winning company is offered the chance to go the regional business plan competition.

Who can participate? The competition is only open to GVSU students who are currently enrolled for at least 1 credit during the Fall and Winter semester.

GVSU Idea Pitch Competition

Great Lakes Entrepreneur’s Quest Business Plan Competition

Three New Business Idea awards will be presented: $2,000 for the 1st place winner, $1,500 for the 2nd place winner, and$500 for the 3rd place winner. Three Emerging Company awards will also be presented: $5,000 for the 1st place winner, $3,000 for the second place winner, and $2,000 for the third place winner.

Who can participate? At least one member of the team must reside, work or attend school in Michigan. Existing Michigan businesses may participate in the competition with their expansion or growth idea.

Greenlight Business Model Competition

The Greenlight Business Model Competition will bring together businesses that have been in existence for one year or less with new student run start-up ventures. This event will bring entrepreneurs from all over the State of Michigan to the East Lansing area to pitch their ideas to an amazing panel of judges with chances of winning up to $50,000 in prizes while also networking with angel and venture capital investors from throughout the state.

Who can participate? Any and all State of Michigan residents and students that have a company or idea that has been in existence for less than one year.
