EnGen Team Accepts RFPs to encourage entrepreneurial college student-community partnerships in Michigan

As part of their continuing mission to support and empower emerging entrepreneurial communities in Michigan, the Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF) has announced the availability of four stipends to be awarded in September of 2012. Stipends will be awarded in amounts of up to $3,000 and are targeted towards student-driven groups or community coalitions interested in better connecting college students with community resources by hosting an entrepreneurial engagement event. These stipends will be awarded though the EnGen team as part of the Moving Ideas to Market (MI2M) initiative, which is led by the Prima Civitas Foundation.

As part of EnGen’s mission, these stipends are intended to support events that initiate or further support the development of such student-community partnerships. Events should be student-driven and focused on creating observable, sustainable entrepreneurial culture change in their communities. Successful proposals will culminate in an observable event or action that connects multiple entrepreneurial resource partners and networks to college students and should include an innovative engagement model that fosters sustainable entrepreneurial culture change in the surrounding community.

These stipends are intended to support engaging, fun, collaborative, and non-traditional entrepreneurship-focused events or activities initiated by and aimed towards enterprising college students. Through supporting these events, PCF and the EnGen team hope to spur positive growth and culture change in emerging entrepreneurial communities by uniting college students with their local community resources. Successful proposals will include plans to increase community collaboration and investment, enhance access to resources and resource networks, and strengthen community connectedness.

Requests for proposals are due August 30, 2012. Recipients will be announced September 15, 2012. Engagements must be completed by November 30, 2012.
